I'm back from a whirlwind weekend at New York Comic Con.
There were a lot of highlights, which I'll discuss in a forthcoming blog post, but the top highlight was of course manning the Blood of Atlantis pop-up with artist Francine Delgado. Having worked with Fran remotely over the past year, it was so nice to be able to hang out in person and tell people about our comic!

Hi everyone,
Shipping is nearly complete and I am blasting through the writing of Beatrice's Atlantis Diary. More details below, but first things first!
Blood of Atlantis x NYCC
NYCC starts tomorrow! Blood of Atlantis artist Fran Delgado and I will be hosting a pop-up at Fran's table in Artist Alley (C-44) on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18.
Come bring your comic to get double-signed and meet us! And if you have the Day in the Life variant, artist Serg Acuña will be at Table C-43 right next to Fran, so you could get your comic triple-signed, which I didn't even think was possible!
You'll also be able to pick up some exclusive swag for free, including this amazing BoA x NYCC print that Fran drew:
If you miss the pop-up, don't worry, as I'll be around all 4 days and will have prints to give away to backers.

All of the domestic orders have been shipped and now I am knocking out the international orders. Those should all be sent out by next week.

Beatrice's Atlantis Diary stretch goal sneak peek
I am in the middle of writing Beatrice's Atlantis Diary and it is a lot of fun, as I hadn't written a first-person POV story for her before. Here are the first two entries:
Monday, June 17
Once there was an island. It was magnificent. And then it sank beneath the waves, never to be heard of again.
That is the myth we all know.
But if there's anything I've learned over these past 15 years, it's that there is no such thing as a myth.
Were it not for a scheming duo, I would have started this work long ago. But thanks to the unwanted meddling of one Jen Jacobs, I finally have all of my memories back.
And what they reveal is this: Atlantis was real and it was powerful.
And I am going to find it.
Wednesday, June 19
Audacious goals should only be attempted by audacious people. The timid mind has no business attempting the impossible. Fortunately, such people almost always give up before they even truly begin. When they realize the sheer magnitude of the task in front of them, they cower at its enormity and then forget that they ever dared to dream it.
But I am not one of those people. When I set my mind to something, it will be done.
I mastered enhancement alchemy. I closed the the spaces between. And I found the Token Thought Lost. Except it was all a ruse.
When I was finally able to stop running, I decided to forego the bonds of man and woman and become something greater.
Cold, calculating, and free, I did what few before me had done. I rediscovered the Secret of the Blue and then squeezed it out of so many horrible people that it would have taken an army to bring me down. The power I could summon from my fingertips!
But in my haste to ascend, I grew too bold. That is the one downside of arrogance. Whereas a humbler striver would have methodically waited until they were absolutely sure they had reach the pinnacle, I thought I could short-circuit all of that.
And I paid dearly for my mistake. Once by the foe I sought to fell and once by someone who had been watching me from the shadows. Who they are and for how long they had been observing me, I do not know.
But what I do know is that I need to set my sights high once again if I am to truly be free to live as I see fit.
Or rather, I must set my sights Below, where the City still slumbers, after all these centuries.

Hi everyone,
It has been a productive month at Blood of Atlantis HQ! Not only have 90% of orders been fulfilled/shipped, but I also finished the script for Blood of Atlantis #2 and artist Fran Delgado is getting to work on it shortly!
Shipping update
I am working on the last few batches of orders this week, plus the international orders. For domestic orders, you should get an email with your tracking number once your order has shipped, and for international orders that are tracking number-eligible, I'll forward that along as well.
Note that if your pledge included Guild of Tokens/Guild of Magic paperbacks, those will be coming to you in a separate shipment.

Other than the issue #2 preview, the only outstanding item from the campaign is the Beatrice's Atlantis Diary digital stretch goal. I am working on this now and expect to finish it by early October.
It will be added to your digital items on BackerKit once it is done, and you'll get an email when it is ready to download.

Hi everyone,
The day is finally here! The comics have arrived!
I spent last night unpacking 4 boxes of comics and everything looks great with the issues!
Yesterday, you should have received a 48-hour notice from BackerKit to update your address. If you moved since you filled out your survey, you have until tomorrow to update your address before it locks.
Tonight I will begin assembling the first batch of packages to go out. I will try to ship as many as I can tomorrow and Thursday, and then resume shipping after Labor Day.
You will get an email via BackerKit with your tracking number when your package has been shipped.
The stretch goal bookmarks also arrived today. Take a look at Fran's new artwork for the bookmarks!

Here are the trading cards, which arrived yesterday. They came out great!
When I opened them, my 7 year old daughter asked which ones were rare and ultra-rare, and I explained to her that everyone is getting the same 5 cards. She then replied, "Oh, so they're all Common. Can we do a rare foil card for the next campaign?" I told her that sounded like a great idea, so stay tuned for the issue 2 campaign!
